It has been reported that a forest fire broke out in the Kepez district of Antalya on Friday, 25 September. Details regarding the exact point of origin, the cause, the area affected and the latest status of the fire-fighting operation—which came to public attention in the afternoon—have not yet been clarified.

Forest fires broke out in Kepez throughout the summer
Several forest fires occurred in Kepez during the summer of 2026. A fire that broke out near the Kızıllı neighbourhood on 6 September was tackled using six helicopters, two aeroplanes, 12 fire engines, four water-tanker vehicles and three first-response vehicles.
The fire, which involved 85 technical staff and forestry workers, was brought under control after approximately three hours of work.
In the fire that broke out in the woodland area of Çamlıca Mahallesi on 22 July, 5 helicopters, 4 aeroplanes and 12 fire engines were deployed. The fire, during which some homes were evacuated as a precaution, was brought under control following an intervention lasting approximately four hours.
The fire in Aksu had spread towards the Kepez border
The fire, which began on 7 September in the Karaöz region of Aksu district, had spread as far as the Kepez border due to strong winds. A total of 720 people from 254 households in Aksu and Kepez were evacuated as a precaution, and reinforcement teams from various provinces also joined the fire-fighting efforts.
There is no confirmed information to suggest that the new fire reported in Kepez on 25 September is linked to the previous fires. Official statements regarding the cause of the fire and the status of the response are awaited.
