Teams from the Public Order Bureau of the Alanya District Police Headquarters apprehended the fugitive convict M.A.M. and M.Y., who was found in possession of an unlicensed pistol and ammunition, during two separate operations in the Kızlarpınarı and Çarşı neighbourhoods. The two individuals, who were taken to the courthouse, were remanded in custody following the necessary legal proceedings and transferred to Alanya L-Type Closed Prison.
The teams established that 65-year-old M.A.M., who had a finalised prison sentence of 11 years, 9 months and 20 days for an offence under the Tax Procedure Law, was in hiding at an address in the Kızlarpınarı neighbourhood. The fugitive convict was apprehended during an operation carried out at the identified residence.
Police teams, continuing their checks at various points across the district, stopped 34-year-old M.Y. on suspicion whilst on a routine patrol in the Çarşı neighbourhood after his behaviour aroused their attention. An unlicensed pistol and ammunition for the weapon were found on M.Y.
The pistol and bullets were seized, and M.Y. was taken into custody. Following the completion of procedures at the police station, M.A.M. and M.Y. were transferred to Alanya Courthouse.
M.A.M., who had a finalised prison sentence, was remanded in custody following proceedings at the public prosecutor’s office and his appearance in court. M.Y. was also remanded in custody by the Duty Magistrates’ Court on charges of contravening Law No. 6136 on Firearms, Knives and Other Weapons.
After completing the official procedures at the courthouse, the two individuals were taken, under police escort, to the Alanya L-Type Closed Prison.
