In an accident that occurred at around 3.00 pm in the Oba neighbourhood of Alanya, three people were injured when a car collided with a pedestrian and a bus stop. It was reported that one of the injured, Ö.D., was in a critical condition, whilst the driver, S.B., was taken to the police station for questioning.
The car, bearing the registration number 06 BPA 686 and driven by S.B., who was travelling from Alanya towards Gazipaşa, struck Ö.D. as he was attempting to cross the road. Following the collision, the vehicle lost control and veered towards the bus stop on the road.
The car collided with the bus stop where the couple, F.K. and B.A.K., were waiting for the bus. In the accident, the pedestrian Ö.D., as well as F.K. and B.A.K., who were at the bus stop, were injured.
Following reports from bystanders to the 112 Emergency Call Centre, a large number of police and medical teams were dispatched to the area. After the medical teams’ initial treatment at the scene, the three injured people were taken to hospital.
Police teams carried out an investigation at the scene of the accident. Once the investigation was complete, the car was removed with the assistance of a recovery vehicle.
The moment of the accident was captured by a nearby security camera. The footage shows the car first hitting Ö.D., then crashing into the bus stop where F.K. and B.A.K. were waiting. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
