The fire broke out in a non-forested area of Akbaş on September 6. A large-scale firefighting operation was launched after the flames spread into the forest.

Ground crews continued their efforts throughout the night, while aerial firefighting resumed in the morning. The General Directorate of Forestry announced that the fire had been largely brought under control.

According to initial assessments, a total of 160 hectares of land were affected by the fire. Firefighting efforts are continuing from both the air and the ground.
