At the junction in Alanya known as the ‘old state hospital junction’, a large number of motorcyclists and motorbike couriers lost control and fell onto the tarmac due to oil spilled onto the road. Following the incident, in which several people were injured, ambulance and police crews were dispatched to the area.

It was alleged that the oil had been spilled onto the road from a moving vehicle. Drivers of two-wheeled vehicles, unable to notice the slippery surface, skidded one after the other.

One of the female riders who fell narrowly escaped being run over by a car approaching from behind.

The authorities urged motorcyclists and motorbike couriers using the junction to avoid excessive speed and sudden braking due to the slippery surface.
