In the Manavgat district of Antalya, four people who were trapped in a fire that broke out in a five-storey, 10-flat building owned by Durmuş Özen were rescued by the fire service. It was reported that two of those rescued were children.
The fire, which started on the third floor of the building, quickly spread to the upper floors. Following the emergency call, the Manavgat Unit of the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Fire Service, along with 112 Emergency Medical Services and the Manavgat Police Department, were dispatched to the scene. Whilst tackling the fire, firefighters evacuated those trapped via balconies and windows using ladders.
The four people rescued underwent medical checks in the ambulance. Those affected by smoke were given oxygen treatment.
The fire was extinguished following the efforts of the emergency services. Extensive damage was caused to the flats.
