S.K. and Ö.E.A., who had received finalised prison sentences totalling 38 years and 4 months, were apprehended by Gendarmerie Detectives (JASAT) and handed over to the prison service. According to a statement from the Antalya Provincial Gendarmerie Command, the operation was carried out in accordance with instructions from the Manavgat and Serik Public Prosecutors’ Offices.
It was reported that S.K. had a finalised prison sentence of 18 years and 2 months for the offences of “Trafficking in or Supplying Narcotic or Psychotropic Substances” and “Escape of a Convicted Person or Detainee”.
It was also stated that Ö.E.A. had a finalised prison sentence of 20 years and 2 months for the offences of “Premeditated Murder of a Close Relative” and “Escape of a Convicted Person or Detainee”.
The two individuals, who were apprehended following a pursuit by JASAT teams, were remanded in custody by the judicial authorities to which they were referred following legal proceedings. S.K. and Ö.E.A. were subsequently transferred to a prison.
The Antalya Provincial Gendarmerie Command announced that the fight against crime and criminals would continue with determination to ensure public peace and security.
