In an accident that occurred at around 7.00 pm on 27 September 2026 at the Çolaklı Süral junction on the Manavgat–Alanya D-400 road, two people lost their lives after being trapped under a lorry that had collided with a car and then overturned onto a minibus stop. The lorry driver, Hüseyin Ç., who sustained minor injuries, was taken into custody.
According to reports, the lorry, driven by Hüseyin Ç. and travelling from Antalya towards Manavgat, collided with the traffic lights and then rear-ended a car driven by Gürkan T., which was travelling in the same direction. Following the collision, the lorry overturned into the minibus stop at the side of the road.
After witnesses to the accident alerted the 112 Emergency Call Centre, fire and rescue teams from the Manavgat Unit of the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Fire Service, along with numerous ambulances, gendarmerie and traffic police, were dispatched to the scene.
After local residents reported that two people were trapped under the lorry, a crane was called to the scene. The overturned vehicle was lifted following operations carried out with the assistance of a tow truck and heavy machinery. The teams recovered the bodies of the two people trapped under the lorry.
Based on an identity document found in a bag at the scene, it was determined that the two deceased were foreign women. The bodies were sent to the Antalya Institute of Forensic Medicine following examinations by Gendarmerie Crime Scene Investigation teams, a forensic pathologist and the public prosecutor.
Hüseyin Ç., who sustained minor injuries in the accident, was taken into custody by gendarmerie teams on the instructions of the public prosecutor.
Eyewitnesses stated that the car was travelling along its normal route when the lorry first struck a pole, then the car, and subsequently overturned onto the two people.
