During searches carried out at the suspects’ residences, as well as at a business premises and in a vehicle, in the Alanya district and Döşemealtı district, 210 kilograms of shredded tobacco, 377 packets of contraband cigarettes and various e-cigarette products were seized. Following the operation, which was carried out in accordance with instructions from the Public Prosecutors’ Offices in Alanya and Antalya, a criminal investigation into the matter was launched.
In addition to the shredded tobacco and contraband cigarettes, 20 contraband e-cigarettes and 39 e-cigarette heaters were found during the searches.
The Antalya Provincial Gendarmerie Command stated that efforts to combat smuggling would continue with determination and resolve.
