As part of an investigation coordinated by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, teams from the Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch identified 14 suspects.
Investigators determined that the suspects had allegedly shared social media content that portrayed as legitimate, praised or encouraged the use of coercion, violence or threats associated with the armed criminal organizations known as the “Daltonlar”, “Çirkinler” and “Casperlar”. Some of the suspects were also alleged to have posted statements indicating that they wanted to take part in activities carried out by these groups.
Nine suspects were initially apprehended during simultaneous raids at identified addresses. A tenth suspect was later detained as the operation continued. Authorities said efforts were ongoing to locate the remaining 4 suspects who could not be found at their addresses.
Searches of the suspects’ addresses resulted in the seizure of 338 grams of cocaine, 61 packages of cannabis reportedly prepared for sale, and a precision scale. Mobile phones were also seized for digital examination.
The investigation is ongoing.
