Roadworks that had been underway for some time on Atatürk Street in Mahmutlar, one of Alanya’s neighborhoods, have now been completed. Alanya Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik announced after inspecting the area that the asphalt works had been finished one week ahead of schedule.

According to figures shared by the municipality, a total of 9 kilometers of roadway was completed and 19,400 tons of hot asphalt were laid as part of the project. At the Kestel starting point of the works, municipal teams were also reported to have laid 1,300 tons of asphalt in a single operation.

THE TARGET DATE WAS SEPTEMBER 10

Atatürk Street, which had previously been paved with interlocking stones, was reorganized following the completion of infrastructure works in the area. After AFAD and Akdeniz EDAŞ completed their infrastructure works, municipal teams moved on to ground preparation and asphalt paving.

Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik said the municipality had previously set September 10 as the target completion date, but the teams managed to move ahead of schedule and finish the work one week earlier.
